Gold is precious and widely used in multiple important fields. Desorption electrolysis is a purification process after gold selection, which can achieve efficient recovery and purification of cash. The main equipment used in the desorption electrolysis process of gold mines is as follows:

1.Electrolytic cell

The electrolytic cell is the core equipment used to contain electrolyte and gold electrodes, providing a stable environment for electrolytic reactions. Due to the corrosive nature of the electrolyte, corrosion-resistant materials such as polyvinyl chloride and polypropylene are often used. Its size and shape need to be designed according to production scale and process requirements to ensure that the gold electrode is fully immersed in the electrolyte for easy operation and maintenance.

2.Analysis column

The analytical column is used to desorb gold from gold loaded carbon. The column is filled with gold loaded charcoal, and a specific temperature and concentration of desorption solution (such as a mixed solution of sodium hydroxide and sodium cyanide) is pumped in at a specific flow rate. The desorption solution is in full contact with the gold loaded carbon. At a specific temperature and pressure, the chemical substances in the desorption solution react with the gold ions adsorbed on the gold loaded carbon, causing the gold ions to detach from the carbon and enter the desorption solution, achieving the separation of gold from the carbon.

3.Electrolyte

Electrolyte is an important component, usually composed of solutions containing gold ions such as potassium gold cyanide solution, gold chloride solution, etc. It provides gold ions and promotes electrolytic reactions. It should have a certain degree of stability to maintain a stable concentration of gold ions and ensure the continuous progress of the electrolysis reaction. But the electrolyte has certain toxicity, and safety measures should be taken when using it.

4.Carbon storage tank

Gold beneficiation extensively uses activated carbon to adsorb gold ions, and carbon storage tanks provide a centralized storage location for activated carbon to ensure sufficient supply. Different quantities and specifications of activated carbon can be stored according to production needs to maintain the stability and continuity of mineral processing technology.

5.Mixing device

The stirring device is an auxiliary equipment that stirs the electrolyte to evenly distribute gold ions and improve the efficiency of the electrolysis reaction. It should be stirred evenly to avoid excessive or insufficient local concentration affecting desorption efficiency.

6.Electric heater

During the desorption process, an electric heater is used to control the temperature. By generating heat, the temperature of the desorption solution is raised and maintained within an appropriate range, promoting the desorption reaction and making it easier for gold ions to detach from the gold loaded carbon and enter the desorption solution.

7.Filtering device

The filtering device filters impurities in the electrolyte to improve the purity of gold. Due to the involvement of chemical agents and corrosive substances in gold beneficiation, corrosion-resistant materials such as stainless steel and special alloys need to be used to ensure long-term stable operation.

The gold desorption electrolysis equipment is crucial for achieving gold purification and separation. In practical applications, appropriate equipment should be selected, configured and operated reasonably based on production scale, process requirements, and gold content to ensure desorption efficiency and quality. At the same time, attention should be paid to equipment maintenance to extend its service life and improve production efficiency.
