At present, for the weak magnetic iron mineral hematite, it is very difficult to separate. Therefore, almost all hematite ore dressing is wet separation method. The process of hematite wet separation is mainly magnetic separation process and flotation process. And hematite wet separation equipment mainly includes magnetic separation equipment and flotation equipment.
Presently, there are two widely used hematite wet magnetic separation equipment: wet cylinder magnetic separator and vertical ring high gradient pulsation magnetic separator.
Wet cylinder magnetic separator include the following series: CTB (semi-countercurrent) series, CTN (countercurrent) series, CTS ( downstream) series. Because the iron ore concentrate grade and recovery rate from CTB series cylinder magnetic separator are relatively high, it is more commonly used. The vertical ring high gradient pulsating magnetic separator has medium magnetic field type and strong magnetic field type. It has the advantages of large magnetic field intensity, large depth of magnetic field and not easy to block. Therefore, it currently occupies most of the market of strong magnetic separators.
The commonly used flotation equipment for hematite includes: self-aspirating mechanical agitation flotation machine, inflatable mechanical agitation flotation machine, flotation column, and air dissolved flotation machine.
Self-aspirating mechanical agitation flotation machine aeration and agitation are completed by the rotor and stator, without additional aeration device, so the structure is simple. The disadvantage is greater wear, and the inflation volume is not easy to adjust.
The agitation of aeration mechanical agitation flotation machine is completed by the rotation of the impeller, and the inflation is accomplished by the external blower. The aeration rate can be adjusted. The advantage is that its rotor and stator wear less, the disadvantage is that the device is complex, so the installation and disassembly more trouble.
In recent years, the flotation column has shown a series of advantages such as large processing capacity, good flotation index and energy saving. And it has been widely used in mining industry. But decompression flotation machine is less used in production practice recently.
