Copper ore beneficiation often involves the flotation process, which typically includes crushing, grinding, flotation, and dehydration processes. Different ore beneficiation equipment is required for each operation, and the selection of equipment models depends on the scale of the beneficiation plant. Today, we will introduce the equipment needed for a flotation plant with a daily processing capacity of 50 tons.

1. Copper Ore Crushing Stage

In the copper ore crushing stage, the raw ore needs to be crushed into small chunks, preparing it for the subsequent grinding process. Equipment used in the crushing process includes crushers and vibrating screens. For a 50-ton copper ore beneficiation plant, the recommended crusher model is the PE150×750 jaw crusher. A circular vibrating screen is recommended to complement the jaw crusher for the screening operation.

2. Copper Ore Grinding Stage

In the copper ore grinding stage, the task is to further grind the previously crushed small ore chunks into fine particles, preparing them for the subsequent flotation process. Equipment used in the grinding stage includes ball mills and classifiers. For a 50-ton copper ore beneficiation plant, the recommended model for the ball mill is the 1200×2800 conical ball mill, and the classifier is recommended to be the FLG-1000 high-weir spiral classifier.

3. Copper Ore Flotation Stage

Flotation is the core process in a copper ore flotation plant, as it is through flotation that copper is separated from other associated minerals, increasing the grade of copper concentrate. In the flotation stage, the material after grinding is mixed with flotation reagents. This process requires the use of an agitating tank. The mixed slurry is then sent to the flotation machine for flotation, separating copper from gangue minerals.

For a 50-ton copper ore beneficiation plant, the recommended models are a 1000×1000 agitating tank and an SF-0.7 flotation machine.

4. Copper Ore Dehydration Stage

In the copper ore dehydration stage, the separated copper concentrate is subjected to dehydration treatment to obtain a final concentrate with a moisture content of less than 20%. This concentrate is then used for copper product processing or smelted to obtain copper metal. Equipment used in this stage includes thickeners, dewatering screens, filter presses, and more.

The process flow and equipment selection for any beneficiation plant should not be blindly copied from others but should be designed based on the specific characteristics of the ore. It requires a targeted design of the process flow and equipment selection under the guidance of professionals.
