The selection of spodumene complete beneficiation equipment should be based on its beneficiation process flow. At present, the commonly used processes are: manual separation method, pre desliming method, flotation method, heavy medium separation method, magnetic separation method and combined beneficiation method.
Before the spodumene is officially put into the separation process, it is generally selected by hand for preliminary screening and pre selection. After crushing (ore grain width ≤ 1200mm), the ore is sent into the hand selection belt to select 25~300mm spodumene through its appearance color and glossiness.
Spodumene hand selection equipment includes: crusher, belt conveyor, screening machine
Crusher: hammer crusher for coarse crushing, jaw crusher for medium crushing, cone crusher for fine crushing
Screening machine: there are three types of vibrating screen, linear vibrating screen and self centering vibrating screen to choose from, and the specific equipment shall be determined according to the screening particle size requirements
The pre desliming operation is mainly to conduct a desliming and impurity removal operation before separation. The crushed minerals after manual separation are put into the ball mill for grinding, and the grinding is -0.074mm, accounting for 75%. Then, dodecylamine or coconut amine is used as the gangue mineral collector to remove the slime and mica by flotation.
Spodumene pre concentration desliming equipment mainly includes: dry ball mill, overflow ball mill, coarse particle flotation machine, reagent agitation tank
Dry ball mill: it is generally used in the grinding stage for dry treatment. After the minerals are grinded to certain requirements, they enter the pre concentration stage to remove some impurities;
Wet ball mill: it is generally used for fine grinding in the grinding stage. After grinding to meet the particle size requirements, it will enter the sorting operation;
Coarse particle flotation machine/agitation tank: it is the equipment used for roughing pre concentration after the dry ball mill. The products after grinding are sent to the reagent agitation tank, so that after the minerals and reagents are fully mixed, impurities such as slime or mica can be removed by flotation.
Spodumene flotation includes positive flotation and reverse flotation. Among them, positive flotation is to directly float spodumene by adding oleic acid and its soap salts as collectors under strong alkaline environment. Reverse flotation is to use lime to adjust to alkaline environment, then add dextrin, starch, etc. to inhibit spodumene, and then float out silicate gangue ore.
Spodumene flotation equipment mainly includes XCF flotation machine, KYF flotation machine, SF flotation machine and JJF flotation machine
XCF/KYF type: the two units can generally form a combined unit. The former is used as a direct current tank, and the latter is a slurry suction tank. Sweeping and cleaning operations are often done; (XCF/KYF combined unit)
JJF/SF: can be used in combination. SF is used as suction tank and JJF is used as direct current tank. It is suitable for scavenging and cleaning operations in medium and large spodumene concentrators.
For spodumene with fine embedded particle size, the heavy medium separation method can be used. According to the density difference between minerals, the pressure of 0.05~0.20Mpa is used to feed the heavy medium cyclone for separation, and the bottom flow part is spodumene.
The main equipment used in dense medium separation method is: dense medium cyclone
When spodumene contains iron impurity minerals, magnetic separation is required for iron removal. Since most of the associated iron impurities in spodumene are weakly magnetic beneficiation, iron removal is required through strong magnetic (above 10000Oe) magnetic separation equipment to obtain spodumene concentrate with low iron content.
Spodumene magnetic separation equipment includes wet high intensity magnetic separator and high gradient magnetic separator
When the spodumene concentrate with high grade cannot be obtained by the above single beneficiation method, the combined beneficiation method shall be used for effective separation. Common combined processes include: flotation magnetic separation combined process, flotation gravity magnetic separation combined process, flotation chemical treatment combined process, etc.
