Six Precautions for Mineral Processing of Altered Rock Type Gold Deposits

Altered rock type gold bearing deposits are one of the important types of ore deposits. In this type of gold ore, the embedded particle size of gold is uneven, and there is a certain amount of coarse gold. When sorting, the particle size range is relatively wide, and processes such as flotation, gravity separation flotation, flotation concentrate cyanidation, etc. are often used for processing. In order to improve the beneficiation technical indicators of this type of gold ore, there are six aspects that need attention. Next, we will interpret it one by one.

1. Improving the recovery of coarse grained gold from ore deposits

In altered rock gold ore, the gold ore is mostly unevenly distributed, and a certain amount of coarse grained gold is embedded in the ore. This part of coarse grained gold should be collected as early as possible. For this purpose, a jig can be installed at the ore discharge area of the grinding operation to recover about 30% of the gold, improving the technical indicators of the concentrator.

2. Adopt partial roughing operation to recover easily floating gold bearing minerals as soon as possible

In altered rock gold ores, gold and gold bearing minerals are both easily floatable minerals, but their floatability may differ greatly. Sometimes the minerals of the same ore body also have significant differences in floatability. In response to this situation, the floatability differences of target minerals can be utilized to separate easily floatable gold or gold bearing minerals as early as possible. Priority roughing operations can be set up in the beneficiation process to improve beneficiation indicators.

3. Improve recovery of gold bearing minerals with fine particles and poor floatability

In addition to the above methods, in order to improve the recovery rate of gold, attention should also be paid to the recovery of fine gold, gold with poor floatability, and gold bearing minerals during the beneficiation process. According to statistical data, the flotation recovery rate of gold concentrators using gravity flotation process accounts for about 70% of the total recovery rate. For gold concentrators using priority roughing process, the next flotation recovery rate accounts for about 30% of the total recovery rate, which has a significant impact on the total recovery rate. Therefore, measures should be taken to strengthen recovery, such as strengthening the process flow, strict reagent system and operating conditions, and careful operation.

4. Reduce tailings grade

Although altered rock containing gold ore has good washability and relatively high separation recovery indicators, in different actual scenarios, the tailings grade gap is relatively large, and can be further reduced between 0.25 and 0.75 grams/ton. The basic approach to reducing the tailings grade should take comprehensive measures, including improving the separation process, improving operating conditions, strengthening technical management, and strict technical operations, and strengthening the control of coarse and fine particles Recovery of gold and gold bearing minerals with poor floatability.

5. Strengthen the comprehensive recovery and utilization of useful minerals

In altered rock gold-bearing ores, the main gold-bearing minerals are generally metal sulfide minerals such as pyrite and chalcopyrite, and the recovery of gold ore needs to be accompanied by the recovery of pyrite and chalcopyrite. In order to fully utilize resources, in the beneficiation process, if the copper grade reaches a certain level, copper and sulfur can be separated, and gold copper concentrate and gold sulfur concentrate can be separated separately.

6. Perform metal balance management

Metal balance, as a comprehensive quality indicator of a mineral processing plant, is an important standard for measuring the production management, technical management, quality management, equipment management, and worker operation level of the mineral processing plant. In order to improve the mineral processing technical indicators, it is necessary to strengthen the management of metal balance. Calculate the raw ore quantity and output concentrate quantity of the access plant, measure the grade of raw ore, concentrate, and tailings accurately, reduce measurement and laboratory errors, accurately sample, and strictly process, laying a reliable scientific foundation for preparing metal balance sheets and strengthening metal balance management.

The above are six aspects that should be paid attention to in the mineral processing of altered rock type gold bearing deposits. In actual beneficiation production, the economic benefits of a beneficiation plant are directly related to the beneficiation technical indicators, and factors such as actual operation are also very important on the basis of the beneficiation process. Therefore, the editor suggests that in the daily management of the concentrator, attention should be paid to changes in various indicators, and reasonable control and adjustment should be conducted in a timely manner.
